Ministries
Children and Church
We affirm the value of children participating in the worship of the church and hearing God’s Word preached, even if they do not understand everything that they hear. While we seek to have a reverent atmosphere during our church meetings, our goal is not absolute silence, so we happily welcome families with children of all ages – squeaks and squeals included – and do not require that children be separated from their parents.
Recognizing the special needs of babies and younger children, we provide nursery space with toys, changing tables, etc. and staff it as needed.
Bible Studies and Classes
On Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm we meet online each for an interactive family Bible Study. Please contact the church office to receive the Zoom link for the study.
We have a class for high school students and young adults as well as an adult Bible study each Sunday morning at 9:00 am.
On the last Sunday of each month, we enjoy a shared Fellowship Meal, followed by men’s and women’s Bible Studies. See the calendar for the next date.
Are you interested in learning Biblical Greek, the language of the New Testament? Please contact Pastor Jay to check on the class schedule of A Painless Introduction to Greek.
Outreach
Local
We provide the chapel service for the Master’s Touch program at Wayside Cross Ministries on the third Friday of each month.
Pastor Jay is teaching a weekly Bible Study at a local nursing home.
Church members are engaged in outreach through Bible studies and sharing their faith with those they meet.
State and National
We support the Illinois Baptist State Association (IBSA), which provides coaching for pastors, church revitalization services, evangelism, church planting, children’s camps, disaster relief and other services for churches in Illinois. Through the Cooperative Program, we also support church planting and missions throughout the US and the world.
International
We support The Master’s Academy International (TMAI) which provides training in 18 countries for indigenous church leaders to become skilled pastor-teachers, able to equip their churches to make biblically sound disciples.
